This trip takes you off the beaten track into hidden gorges, along a treasured Australian stock route, the Gibb River Road and an overnight at the famous El Questro Wilderness Park and Home Valley Station.
Itinerary,
Day 1: Arrive Kununurrra (No Meals)
Upon arrival at Kununurra airport you will be met and transfered to your hotel. Enjoy a free day to explore Kununurra township before getting acquainted with fellow travellers, meet at 6.00 pm for a drink (own expense) in the hotel bar.
Accommodation: Kununurra Country Club, or similar (motel room, ensuite)
Day 2: Kununurra to El Questro Wilderness Park Via Wyndham (B,L,D)
Join a cruise this morning from Kununurra up the Ord River to Lake Argyle, afterwards visit the Ord River Irrigation Scheme plantations and Ivanhoe Crossing. Leaving Kununurra travel toward the coast and visit the historic port town of Wyndham. From Five Rivers Lookout enjoy afternoon tea and breathtaking views of the port and the five rivers King, Pentecost, Durack, Forrest and Ord which all flow into Cambridge Gulf. Later set off along the infamous Kimberley stock route the Gibb River Road through the Cockburn Ranges to Voyages El Questro Wilderness Park. Marvel at the stunning scenery and rugged ranges that formed the dramatic backdrop for Baz Luhrmans epic movie Australia. Our accommodation at Emma Gorge is in deluxe tented cabins set in the tranquil surrounds of Emma Gorge. This afternoon enjoy a cold beer or a swim in the pool before dinner.

Day 3: El Questro Wilderness Park to Home Valley Station (B,L,D)
Enjoy the morning at leisure or for those keen hikers enjoy an early morning 45 min walk (strenuous) into Emma Gorge and a swim at Droplet Falls. Later enjoy a short walk (easy) to Zebedee Hot Springs, bring your bathers and soak in the thermal springs, surrounded by lush ferns and palms. Time now to visit El Questro Station Homestead, were we stop for lunch (and the chance to buy a cold beer from the shop) under the shady trees. Back on the road again as we rejoin the Gibb River Road passing through the Pentecost Ranges, arriving at Home Valley Station (cattle station/farm) for our overnight stay. Home Valley is ideally located at the foot of the spectacular Cockburn Range and is bordered by the mighty Pentecost and Durack Rivers. This afternoon is free to relax before taking a short drive down to the Pentecost River were some of the scenes for the epic movie Australia were filmed. Finish the day with champagne, beer, wine and cheese as you watch the sun set over the Pentecost River and Cockburn Range. Tonight enjoy dinner and some Kimberley hospitality and live country music in the legendary Dusty Bar and Grill.

Day 4: Home Valley Station Activities (B,L,D)
This morning following a hearty station breakfast, wander down to the stables were we have arranged a very special and unique experience. Home Valleys resident horseman (JR) will provide an informative talk and demonstration on horse training and horsemanship. Following morning tea either enjoy the afternoon at leisure (laze by the pool or relax under a tree with a good book) or choose one of the optional Station activities including Barra Fishing, Bird Watching, Day Spa or Aboriginal Cultural Talk (own expense). Tonight enjoy dinner in the Dusty Bar and Grill.

Day 5: Home Valley to Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge (B,L,D) Today we travel through some of the most stunning scenery found on the Gibb River Road, visit the spectacular Bindoola Falls, and a special Indigenious art experience as we visit one of the stations Aboriginal art sites. Next stop will be at Galvans Gorge (20 min easy walk) for lunch and a swim. Now its time to start our journey into the King Leopold Conservation Park to Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge for our overnight stay. Settle into the beautiful surroundings of what was once a cattle station, we then take a short drive to a vantage point and enjoy champagne and cheese as you watch the sun set over the King Leopold Ranges.

Day 6: Mt Hart to Broome (B,L)
Today travel via the Napier Ranges to Tunnel Creek, an amazing 750 metre flooded tube tunnel. Take an exciting walk wading through the tunnel in knee to thigh high water and hear of the story of the renowned Aboriginal Jandamarra. Then to prehistoric Windjana Gorge, regarded as one of the classic features of world geology and a great freshwater crocodile spotting site. En route back to Broome we stop at the Prison Boab Tree, arriving approximately 7.30 pm.

Additional Booking Information
Accessing Tunnel Creek walk involves 20 metres of clambering over boulders and 700 metres of wading through knee to thigh high water (shorts are ideal). Strap on sandals or old sand shoes must be worn through the water to protect from the rocky creek bed. To safely navigate the Tunnel passengers must be able to walk and balance themselves independently on uneven ground. Flashlights and limited footwear is provided. Rate includes Remote Area Protection Plan (RAPP).
